Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Reports to: Chair of Trustees
Location: PSS HQ, 19G Normandy Way, Bodmin, Cornwall PL31 1RB NB. This is an office-based role in our covid-secure office. Home working will only be applicable in cases of self-isolation for the duration of government required isolation.

Pregnancy Sickness Support (PSS) is a well-established yet rapidly expanding charity providing national support to people affected by pregnancy sickness and hyperemesis gravidarum. Working with our small team of enthusiastic and dedicated staff, based in Central Cornwall, we are seeking an experienced charity manager to provide dynamic and strategic leadership to support our ongoing growth.
This exciting opportunity will give the post holder the chance to shape and develop our charity and take us to the next level, with the help of our three-year grant from the National Lottery. Demand for our services are doubling year on year and our infrastructure needs to support this rapid growth. A passion for women’s health services and an understanding of the current inequalities across society, with a desire to enact change, are essential for the role within this grassroots organisation.
Working in collaboration with staff, volunteers and the board of Trustees, the Charity Manager will be responsible for advising and assisting with the development of PSS’s own strategic plan to ensure implementation and delivery of its aims and objectives. This will include seeking and achieving funds from grants and stakeholders, leading operations internally, managing our human resources and developing key external stakeholder relationships. Operationally you will ensure organisational stability through development and implementation of systems, policies and procedures and regular evaluation and audit. You will also ensure appropriate procedures are in place to maintain PSS’s financial, legal and regulatory responsibilities.
This role requires someone with excellent leadership and management experience and a track record of achievement in the charity sector, ideally within a mid-size organisation. You will need a sound understanding of governance and compliance requirements an experience of advising and working with a Trustee board to achieve their aims and objectives. A proven track record of achieving funding from grant-makers is also essential.
