Conference 2015

Developing Services and Improving Care for Hyperemesis Gravidarum

Our 3rd National Healthcare Professional conference was held at the The Think Tank Museum in Birmingham on 11th May 2015. The theme of the day was around developing services and improving care for women suffering pregnancy sickness and hyperemesis gravidarum.

Morning talks:

  • Setting up an IV Day Unit and treatment pathway - Miss Manjeet Shemar (Birmingham Women's Hospital)

  • Developing an IV at Home Service and treatment pathway - Kim Bushill and Emma Moxham (Sirona Care & Health IV at Home nurses)

  • Developing GP Guidelines and establishing primary/secondary care collaboration - Miss Shilpa Deb and Dr Rosalind King (Nottingham University Hospitals)

Afternoon talks:

  • “Ginger!” and the need for access to evidenced based information and treatment for pregnant women - PSS and the Pregnancy and Medicine Initiative
  • Reducing termination of wanted pregnancies for hyperemesis gravidarum – a multi-organisational approach - PSS and bpas.
  • Supporting women with hyperemesis gravidarum, how you can make a difference - Pregnancy Sickness Support
